History of the domain

A château that's been evolving for almost a thousand years

This Fortified House, built in the Middle Ages, has evolved over time. The château underwent major transformations during the Renaissance, the 17th and 19th centuries and even today. Many illustrious families have left their mark here. The d'Arod family in the 14th century, Jean de Charpin, Seigneur de Montellier, one of King François 1er's hundred gentlemen, the de Rostang family, whose origins date back to the 13th century, the illustrious and ancient French noble family of Gayardon de Fenoyl and Lucien Mangini, entrepreneur and builder of railway lines, who grafted the 19th-century part onto the existing château. Today, the Domaine des Halles is opening a new chapter, continuing to make its mark on history and remaining the theater of exceptional events.
