History of the Domain

A thousand-year-old castle that has never stopped evolving...

This fortified house built in the Middle Ages has evolved over time. The castle underwent important transformations, notably during the Renaissance, in the 17th and 19th centuries and still today. Famous families have left their mark on it. The d'Arod family in the 14th century, Jean de Charpin, Lord of Montellier, one of the one hundred gentlemen of King François I, the de Rostang family whose origins date back to the 13th century, the illustrious and very old French noble family of Gayardon de Fenoyl and Lucien Mangini, entrepreneur and builder of railway lines who grafted the 19th century part on the existing castle. Today the Domaine des Halles opens a new chapter by continuing to mark history and remaining the scene of exceptional events.
